Hi everybody!!!
I believe it has been about 3 whole months since I've last updated, so I figured now would be a good time as any!
As many of you are aware, Kent and I decided to get rid of our facebook accounts. For many reasons, but mainly to focus on our family blog and we feel really good about that. So I hope that if those of you that read this want to stay connected, you'll be able to follow us here...plus I'll post pictures on here if you do! And of course we always have our family email: Klearbon@live.com, so you can get a hold of us that way also.
Where do I begin? Well we have about 7 weeks left until the newest member of our family will be joining us. Very exciting. Although I'm starting to get nervous. I haven't really given it much thought about how our lives are about to change and for the most part it is exciting, however there is that tiny bit of fear that strikes me every time I think about it, ha! I'm sure though that we'll figure out a schedule and fall right into it very soon after, or at least I like to think that way! I remember how hard it was going from one to two after Chloe was born, but I have been told repeatedly that from 2 to 3 is not very bad. The first two have each other to play with, right? Right??? We'll see I guess, ready or not!
The girls are getting ready to go to the first annual "Camp Muzzy" in about a week and a half back in The Dalles. I think this is a great idea, although I keep asking Muzzy if she is SURE she is ready for this. Three little girls (my two and cousin Charlotte) 4 years and younger for 4 days. Muzzy has assured me that she is well prepared. Sure looks like it too! We received our camp newsletter telling the girls what to expect. Swimming, crafts, campfires, horse back riding (I wanna go to camp muzzy!) and much more! This will be a yearly summer tradition for kids in the family 2 and half years and up. So fun!! They even have t-shirts! AND...on the last day when the parents return, they will be putting on a camp program for us, cute! Theme of Camp Muzzy this year is: Little House on the Prairie.
So what will Kent and I be doing while we get 4 days away? Well we've never had 4 days away from our children, so I"m trying to think about what that will be like! I know I will miss them, but they'll be having a blast! Kent and I will be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary by going on a trip to Seattle!!! We are so excited! We don't have much planned out except that we will be having our anniversary dinner at the top of the Space Needle! Other than that we'll just see what we want to do each day.
We are getting settled into our new home slowly, but that seems to be working out just fine for us. We still have boxes in our garage that need to be unpacked, but we'll get to those one day. Kent asked me, and made a good point. If we haven't needed anything from those boxes yet, why do we still have them? That is a good point, so maybe we'll be making some trips to the dump or second hand stores. When we first moved in our garage looked like we were hoarders, it was sad! You don't realize how much you have until you have to move and that is the truth!
The remodel has been amazing. Many of you have seen before pictures of what this home looked like when we first found it. Stuck in the 70's is how I like to paint the picture for people. However Kent has been awesome in taking this scary before home and changing it into an updated home for us and it is beautiful! We've also had so much help in the projects we've undertook so thanks to those that came to help, especially Kent's parents!
We have wonderful neighbors who love the girls. One is a retired elementary teacher who also taught education classes at Western Oregon University, which is neat since she was teaching there when I was going to school there. The other neighbor is a fun lady mine and Kent's mom's age who works at the high school but has the summer off so she likes to take the girls for walks with her little dog and sometimes her daughter will go along also. She also has fun treats at her house and the girls are always asking to go over there and visit. We couldn't have asked for better neighbors really.
The girls are doing well and adjusting to their new home quite well. Every now and then the girls will say how they miss their old house, but I think that's normal and has been happening not as frequently as it used to.
Eden just finished her first session of swim lessons. She's becoming very comfortable in the water, although I'm going to have her take another session in August to go over what she learned earlier. She also finished a week of science camp and had a blast making fun messy science experiments.
Chloe is doing great and likes to do everything and say everything that Eden does/says. It's pretty funny to watch. Chloe will be a funny person when she gets to be older, she has a very funny personality. She loves to sing and is always going around the house singing. Some are songs we know and some are songs that she makes up. She's pretty good at singing too! She would really like to take swimming lessons like her sister and has a hard time sitting on the bleachers watching Eden, but soon enough she'll be right there with her.
They are both excited to have a little sister coming soon and often talk to Luci. Chloe is certain that Luci has toys in my tummy and that she plays with them. Funny hu? Eden is constantly telling me that when baby Luci comes I will need a lot of help and that she is just the person for the job. I tell her that I will need her to help me so much and she has promised to take on the job of changing diapers. We'll see how long that lasts!
I will post pictures soon and as soon as I can find the camera. You'll be amazed at the transformation this house has undergone!
I'll try to post often so keep checking back to see what we're up to!

I am so glad that things are going well for you. We for sure need to stay in touch. I can't wait to see pictures of all three girls.
ReplyDeleteSo fun to read your update! I do want to see house pictures. And I am a HUGE fan of throwing stuff away. It is so liberating. Our girls got to go to grandma's house for four days too!!!! It was a wonderful break. I missed them, but it was sooo nice to not have to take care of anybody for a few days. Taking it nice and easy in the comfort of your own home is a wonderful thing. Happy upcoming anniversary!
